Election results are celebrated by Democrats as a rejection of GOP radicalism.

Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) was predicted to win reelection on Sunday, and Democrats celebrated keeping their majority in the Senate

even though it was unclear who would control the House of Representatives. Her victory gave Democrats control of the 50th Senate seat

and prevented Republicans from taking over both houses of Congress, as many had projected in the weeks preceding election day.

Cortez Masto stated in a victory address on Sunday, "When far-right Republicans declared they knew better, I knew we would show them wrong.

"Nevadans rejected the far-right politicians trying to polarize us in this election. We disregarded their plots, assaults on our employees, and attempts to limit our freedoms.

Sen. Raphael G. Warnock (D) and Rep. Herschel Walker will face off in a runoff for the Senate in Georgia next month.
