LA MARGINAThe winning Powerball numbers are finally known after a 10-hour wait: 10, 33, 41, 47, 56, plus 10 for the red Powerball itself.
The drawing's results, which included a record-breaking $1.9 billion jackpot, were postponed due to a security concern. The drawing was initially scheduled on Monday at 10:59 p.m. EST.
The Multi-State Lottery Association, the company that created the game, said in a statement on Monday night that the delay occurred
because one of the participating lotteries needed more time to finish the necessary security processes.
Before a drawing can take place, Powerball's rigorous security criteria must be satisfied by all 48 lotteries.
Along with Puerto Rico, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands, there are 45 states that take part in Powerball.
