USA sources US $ 10.27 billion worth of cotton trousers in Jan.-Aug. ’22


The USA has imported US $ 10.27 billion worth of cotton trousers in January to August ’22 period, noting 33.65 per cent Y-o-Y growth.

As per official data released by OTEXA, Bangladesh continued remaining on top as it shipped US $ 2.39 billion worth of cotton trousers to the USA in the said period and grew by 47.54 per cent on yearly basis.

Vietnam shipped US $ 1.69 billion worth of cotton trousers to USA, growing by 24.21 per cent on Y-o-Y basis.

China’s exports of cotton trousers (US $ 1.19 billion) were almost half of what Bangladesh shipped and this indicates buyers are moving their cotton product sourcing away from China.

Pakistan (US $ 780.29 million), Mexico (US $ 714.10 million), Cambodia (US $ 605.38 million) and Indonesia (US $ 571.73 million) have also tapped substantial chunk in the USA’s sourcing of cotton trousers.

India maintained its eighth position in tally with US $ 345.77 million worth of cotton trouser exports to the USA and grew by around 56.65 per cent on yearly basis.
